The VOICE Design is an innovative research-grounded instructional framework built on communication theory, learning science, and culturally responsive pedagogy. The VOICE Design is a deliberate redesign of the conditions for genuine learning. Attendees leave with at least one immediately usable tool for any course, in any discipline, and a clear understanding of why it works.

Faculty work through all five VOICE commitments and leave with a redesigned assignment or course element, a full rubric suite, and an implementation plan. Designed for institutional faculty development days.

Most institutions have an AI policy. This workshop gives faculty what the policy doesn't: practical design tools that operationalize disclosure, integrity, and equity commitments at the assignment level.

Communication skills are not the communication department's responsibility. This session shows faculty in any discipline how to design for student voice as a higher-order learning outcome.
Miranda doesn't deliver lectures. She leads conversations, even in the largest of audiences, that change how faculty think about their own teaching. Her keynotes are content-rich and research-grounded, but they don't feel like professional development. They feel like the room finally said out loud what everyone has been thinking.
The VOICE Design gives faculty language for a problem they've been navigating on instinct: how to design for genuine learning when AI can produce a polished product without the thinking that makes learning stick.
Expect energy, humor, and real classroom stories. Expect faculty who came in skeptical to leave with their notebooks full. And expect a room that's still talking about it on the way to the next session.
Miranda is available for: Keynote / Plenary · Conference Breakouts · Institutional PD Days · Multi-Session Cohorts
